Naviguer sur
la petite Saône
This book devoted to the Petite Saône is intended to provide both novice and experienced boaters with a vision of what they will discover when navigating this beautiful river.
It is by no means a navigation guide, but a practical work that will give the reader a fairly accurate idea of what to expect on this route.
It is a complement to the essential navigation guide that will be supplied to you by any boat hire company or that you will need to obtain if you are a yachtsman who owns his own boat.
It's a tool that provides you with information about your future sailing route, giving the location and description of all the possible mooring points, locks and tunnels, and refuelling and food points.
Discovering the local heritage and places to visit are also mentioned, as they form an integral part of river tourism.
Book in French
Au fil de la Saône
History of a navigable river
Although the Saône rises in the Vosges and flows into the Rhône at Lyon, it is in Burgundy-Franche-Comté that it makes most of its journey. The river is an inseparable part of the region's history and a strong territorial marker.
The major changes that the Saône has undergone over the last two centuries have helped to significantly improve its navigation conditions.
By studying all the structures linked to the canalisation and development of its banks (dams, diversions, lock sites, ports, bridges, etc.) in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, the Region wanted to highlight the heritage features that line the river to better understand their history, evolution and uses.
Thanks to its many illustrations, this book invites you to discover or rediscover the structures that make the Saône navigable in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, while showing the diversity of the landscapes it flows through.
